Nutrigenetics and YOU
Nutrigenetics (also called nutrigenomics) is the science of matching a person's nutritional requirements to his or her genes. Until recently, it wasn't possible to know what vulnerabilities might be hidden in our genes, like miniature time bombs. Now, however, by testing an individual's DNA for common SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms), it has become possible to formulate specific recommendations on how to stay healthier longer. The techology will someday also be used to predict which pharmaceuticals would be compatible with a given individual, and which would cause bad side effects.
Dr. Richard Huemer is designing a website to provide nutrigenetic information. It isn't completed yet. We'll post a link under "What's New?" on our index page when more information is available. For more about the subject, try this link to a site we trust: http://www.nutrigenetics.com .
